Life @ Virtual Forge

Life at Virtual Forge is multifaceted; our tasks are widely spread between IT, Support and Marketing. We would like to give you a better insight: What does the work day of, e.g. an employee in the Support department look like? Which qualities does one need to become a dual student in our IT department or what do our Sales employees associate with our company? 

We have asked our colleagues and will now introduce a new employee to you in our blog series “Life @ Virtual Forge” on a regular basis.


What's your life motto? 

Work smart, not hard!

Who are you and what do you do at Virtual Forge?

I am Simon and I live in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. I studied business administration & business psychology (B.Sc) in Mannheim.

I am in charge of establishing the Inside Sales department for German-speaking Europe. Our tasks include classic sales activities, campaign management, database optimization and the handling of different interfaces between Marketing and Sales.

What is your job about?

We generate leads, plan and implement campaigns. Additionally, we serve service providers and support the Sales department. We attempt to re-define and optimize internal processes.

What can you tell us about your team and the collaboration within Virtual Forge?

We work in close collaboration with our Sales team. We have an interesting set-up mixing young with experienced colleagues in the area of German-speaking Europe. We all work as a team. Ways of decision-making are short and we all  have opportunities to place our own ideas and express our wishes.

What's on your schedule today?

Working through follow-ups and  planning new campaigns for the first quarter of 2018.

What do you like most about your job here?

That Inside Sales is a combination of different areas. This makes it very exciting and varied.

What is the biggest challenge of your job?

Establishing Inside Sales and making it an integral part of the company.

How did you get your job?

Due to my 13-year job experience in the Sales area.

How did you experience your time at Virtual Forge so far?

I feel very comfortable at Virtual Forge. The past 6 months have been very energetic, exciting and, of course, educational for me.

Which qualities should one have for your job?

Multifaceted, flexible, sales-oriented, imaginative, motivated, creative

Which development perspectives are there in your department?

There are different ways to develop in the Inside Sales department. Customer care, Sales, Lead function, etc.

What was your highlight at Virtual Forge until now?

My highlight was the "DSAG Jahreskongress 2017" fair with Virtual Forge.

What do you associate with Virtual Forge?

The Champions League of SAP® security, high development quality and great teams.
